Celebrities and Gun Violence

Can celebrity involvement help solve the problem of gun violence?

I feel that they can because they are well-known and famous and they will help people start to realize that gun violence is getting out of control. More people will listen to the problems that go on in our daily lives when celebrities talk about them.  Gun violence has gone out of control.

This was Dwyane Wade’s cousin that got shot.

According to Dwyane Wade,  who is  a famous basketball player. He says that gun laws are weak and that city leaders in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois need to make changes. The reason why he was speaking out about gun violence was because his cousin was shot while pushing a stroller. People are going to listen to him because he is famous.

This is Barack Obama tearing up while giving his speech.

Former President Barack Obama stated at a ceremony that “We need to feel the fierce urgency of now.” When he talked about gun control laws, he teared up, and this shows how in America gun violence has affected people’s lives. Even though not many people agreed with Obama, some people thought maybe there could be a change. The politicians couldn’t change it, but he did change the people’s minds about guns. My opinion stays the same because without politicians, without celebrities, where would we be right now? It’s 2017! We need to start making the right decisions. The violence is Getting Out Of Control!

Gun Rates In The United States VS. Australia

Compared to other core countries, the United States has higher gun-related deaths than Australia. CBS News states that “Americans are 10 times more likely to be killed by guns.” The results are consistent with the argument from Erin G (assistant professor) that firearms are killings than not protecting us. Americans are seven times more likely to die from gun violence and six times more likely to accidently be killed with a gun. This evidence proves how guns need to get out of the U.S. so the gun violence can decrease.

In 1996, Australians experienced its deadliest mass shooting in history, in which 35 people died and 23 people were injured. The Australian government responded to the massacre by banning automatic, pump action, shotguns, and semi-automatic firearms. As a result, 640,000 assault rifles were taken off the street: no mass shootings or no highly dangerous weapons that can kill many. However, in the United States, the 2nd amendment guarantees, “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. “I believe that the 2nd Amendment should not protect the right of the people to own assault rifles. I feel this way because  you don’t know what they could do with it. Let’s say for example, the Charleston shooting, there were 9 out of 10  people shot and it’s very important to say that it’s unfair for the victims that couldn’t survive this. This exemplifies how, they have experienced the terrifying massacre.

Hip Hop VS. Gun Violence

The Inspiration for my piece came from my teachers because all the information came from them so my piece could be inspiring. My song is about school shootings.

Everywhere I see is fighting here, fighting there.

People trying’ to break it down but they can’t force it.

I’m a student, I’m a nephew,I’m a brother, going´ crazy when I  hear bang,bang.

It makes me feel like losin’ my mind, feel like I can’t track out of time.

I try to believe,I try to succeed,

That I got the key

Just taking my time.

I try to believe that I got the key.

You see, even lincoln protect himself,

But here’s what happened.

Booth being him and being selfish that he could accomplish something new

But everyone found out it was true.

You see people taking’ advantage of what’s real, when I see it I be it.

I try to see that I can be

Those shooting stars

Those working hours

That I  can reach the stars

So I can see who we are.

Making that money

Driving that $$

Having those bills

Making me wait

In for something great

That  builds the fate

In the future it will be ordinary

Just be marinated.

Launch tryin to be just ordinary

I’ll show them the registry.

Trying’ to change, tryin’ to be good, still stranded I don’t know what to do.

Standing at the wall  like nothin’s scary.

I try to believe, that I can succeed that i can be

That i can see that I can read the definition of the word like i got nothin goin’ on

I’m losing my mind.

Just taking my time

Just losing my mind

Just  tracking the time

Tryin’ to be, trying’ to see

Whatś in my mind, thinkin’ bout stories, thinkin’ bout life.

Thinking’ by my future, thinkin´ bout my talent to be free,

To aim to be great in life.

Thinkin’ bout stories

Hopefully I get there and not just waste time thinking’ about my life when I got

In front of my eyes.

Thinking’ about  acting,

thinking’ about renting.

Thinkin’ bout life

I’ve been to stressful

To blessfull

I just don’t know.

I can’t know

I can’t be

I can’t see

I can only be

That this world is falling

With that fool donald trump

Acting like it’s special

But let me bless you.

Issue with Gun Violence in America

The most important issue regarding gun violence in this country is that people are using this as a ability to get away with it  but, then when they get caught, than they understand and where they messed up. According to newsela, Dwyane Wade was lashing out the city gun laws. He was calling them ¨Weak and Urging officials in his own hometown to create the citizens and police.¨ This proves that Newsela  shows how even stars are very worried about their safety. Another point, made in Newsela , is that Guns in america in 2016 killed 50 people and wounded 53 in a gay bar night club.  This is important, because this is tragedy to know that that can be your family or even your friend. thus, the people find guns to be used as fun is very questionable to just ask Why? Why Him? Why Her?
